Projects
Here's what we have been up to behind the scenes with all the community work that The Greater Stockwood Alliance and Bristol Charities support.

Stockwood Food Club
Our volunteer-run Food Club supports families and individuals in Stockwood who are on low incomes, providing access to low-cost, nutritious food each week while reducing food waste. Families pay an annual fee of £1 to join the Food Club, and £4 for each weekly shop.
A typical "Food Club Shop" includes fruit and vegetables, tins, cereals, dried foods such as pasta and rice, chilled items including meat, cheese, vegetarian options, and some treats. Some of our food is supplied by FareShare South West and is surplus, so it varies each week!

Stockwood MARKET
Local members of The Greater Stockwood Alliance collaborated with Bristol City Council on a project to empower the community to revitalise local high streets. They led the research into market feasibility and established the team behind today’s vibrant Stockwood Market.
This lively event takes place on the last Saturday of every month (April to November) at the Hollway Road shops, from 10am to 2pm. It has a wonderful community atmosphere, featuring a variety of stalls and occasionally hosting other activities, from live bands to Zumba sessions.

Stockwood Soup
Inspired by the Detroit Soup Movement, these social events bring people together to share soup and vote for community projects to receive funding.
Stockwood Soup is powered by the Greater Stockwood Alliance and has received match funding from Bristol City Council. It has provided support for some fantastic local causes, including youth activities like Stockwood Cubs and BS14 Youth Club, as well as broader community projects such as Stockwood Growing Together and the BS14 Social Club.
